Terre Haute Young Leaders Monthly Meeting: April 5th, 2012
- Attend Terre Haute Young Leaders monthly meetings, held at Clabber Girl Baking Facility at noon - 1:00 on first Thursday of the month.
- Van leaves campus at 11:40 a.m. between LeFer and Hulman
- PBL advisors provide the transportation with the help of Career Development, but lunch is NOT provided. You can purchase a nice lunch at Clabber Girl Baking Facility at a reasonable price.

March 21, 2012: Jean Prather
Jean Prather currently serves as Assistant Director of Human Resources at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She possesses 20+ years of experience in leadership positions in human resources and customer service in corporate and academic environments. Her expertise includes staff recruitment, employee engagement and retention, employee relations, training and development, coaching and performance management, change management, and organizational and strategic planning.
Jean’s passion resides in contributing to the success of others by providing professional development opportunities and performance management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Paralegal/Psychology from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Development from Indiana State University. Jean is a Certified Professional in Human Resources through the Society for Human Resource Management. She is a past president and membership director for the Wabash Valley Human Resources Association; is on the Professional Development and Scholarship Committees for the Indiana Industry Liaison Group in Indianapolis; was a past advisory board member for the Business Leadership Network and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management. Jean is an active member of Union Baptist Church.

November 16, 2011: David Mitchell
David received an Honorary Doctorate’s Degree from Rose-Hulman in 1983. He has been on the Board of Trustees at Rose-Hulman since 1988. David was the Honorary Consul for the Government of Bolivia in Cincinnati for 18 years. He joined SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) in 1997 in Cincinnati. He is a founding member of SCORE in Terre Haute. Among various civic organizations, he has been president of the American Association in El Salvador and president of the US Chamber of Commerce for Bolivia in Bolivia. Currently, he is the Past President of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and is Chapter Chair of the SCORE chapter here in the Wabash Valley.
October 12, 2011: Roger Eddy
Roger Eddy has been Superintendent at Hutsonville CUSD # 1 for the last 16 years and is completing his 9th year as State Representative of the 109th District in east-central Illinois. He has been a coach, teacher, principal and now Superintendent in Illinois for the past 30 years. His committee assignments in the Illinois House include: Elementary & Secondary Education, Labor, Bio-Technology, Health Care Disparities and he is the Minority Spokesman on the Elementary and Secondary Education Appropriations Committee. He also served on and played a leading role in the House Impeachment Committee that resulted in the removal of former Governor Rod Blagojevich from office.
September 21, 2011: Dr. Janet Clark, Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA)
Topic: Leadership in Changing Times
Dr. Janet Clark currently serves as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. She is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and prior to her present position acted as the Chair of the Department of Sciences & Mathematics, as well as the President of the SMWC Faculty Assembly. Dr. Clark received her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Purdue University and was a Senior Research Chemist for ExxonMobil before returning to the classroom to pursue her love of teaching. She holds many patents and has published numerous articles for her work with hydrocarbons; is a member of the American Chemical Society; and served as the National Secretary for Iota Sigma Pi National Honorary for Women in Chemistry.
