Certifications
The Accounting Major also provides the foundation for specialized certifications:
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Certified Financial Management(CFM)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
In most states, preparation for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination requires an additional 25 semester hours beyond the 125 semester hours required for the baccalaureate degree. To prepare yourself for the CPA examination, you can add courses to this major or pursue the Accounting Information Systems major.
