Graduate Admission

Whether your purpose for seeking a graduate degree is professional or personal, we can help you reach your educational goals. To help you get started with the admission process, we've put together an application checklist to streamline the process for you.

Applying to our Graduate Programs

You can complete your application for admission online. Should you have any questions about the application or application process, please contact the Office of Admissions at (800) 499-0373 or (812) 535-5263.

 

For all graduate programs:

  • You must have previously earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
  • You must complete an application for admission. You can complete the application online.
  • You must send in official transcripts of all collegiate work.

Specific Requirements for graduate programs

Additional requirements for admission are dependent upon the program you choose to pursue. Specific requirements are below:

Art Therapy (MAAT)

  • Biographic statement (250 words).
  • Three letters or forms of recommendation.

  • Minimum 2.7 GPA.
  • Competence with art materials as demonstrated by an art portfolio (12-15 artistic works)
  • 12 semester hours in psychology (including Life Span Developmental Psychology and Abnormal Psychology)
  • 18 semester hours in studio art (including drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and other artistic fields)
  • Access to local registered art therapists.
  • Personal interview.
  • $35 application fee.

Education (MED)

  • Resume documenting a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
  • One-to-two page essay describing your interest in the MED program and what you hope to gain from the program.
  • Two letters or forms of recommendation.

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher on any undergraduate work.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on any graduate work.
  • Access to a WiFi-enabled laptop computer with Windows XP/Vista or Mac OS 10 or higher.
  • Access to a high-speed (DSL, cable, etc.) internet connection.
  • $35 application fee.

Leadership Development (MLD)

  • One-to-two page essay describing your interest in the MLD program, your selected Focus Area, and what you hope to gain from the program.
  • Two letters or forms of recommendation.
