May 15, 2013
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head basketball coach Deanna Bradley announced a new edition to the Pomeroy basketball team. On Thursday, May 9th, Mikayla Kinneer signed a letter of intent to join the Pomeroys for the 2013-2014 season.
Bradley talked about what Kinneer will bring to the Pomeroys. “Mikayla's quickness will help us defensively as we look to pressure full court. She has a great attitude and excellent work ethic and brings to the program good ball handling skills as well as aggressive moves to the basket."
The 5-foot-8 guard from North Vermillion High School in Cayuga, Ind., averaged 10 ppg (points per game) and 3 rbg (rebounds per game) while shooting 41 percent from the field and 36 percent from 3 point range. Kinneer was a key piece to North Vermillion's sectional championship run this past season. Kinneer, a four-year letterwinner, also earned All-Conference (WRC) honorable mention honors as well as earning her team’s Mental Attitude Award this past season.
Mikayla is the daughter of Joanna and Karl Kinneer.
