Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head basketball coach Deanna Bradley announced a new edition to the Pomeroy basketball team. On Friday, March 8, Na-Shaunda Rayford signed a letter of intent to join the Pomeroys for the 2013-2014 season.
“Na-Shaunda brings to us speed on both sides of the ball,” said Bradley. “She is coming from a high school program that is used to playing an up-tempo style. She will fit perfectly into what we are planning to do for the upcoming season.”
The 5-foot-6 guard from Anderson High School in Anderson, Ind., averaged 4 ppg (points per game), 4 rbg (rebounds per game), and 2.3 apg (assists per game) while shooting 40 percent from the field. In addition, the three-year captain helped the Indians to an 18-6 record last season and guided Anderson to a Sectional Championship in 2012.
Rayford, the daughter of Eric and Natalie Maxwell, plans to study psychology at SMWC.
