Macy and Littleton sign letters of intent with SMWC
Aug. 30, 2013
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is proud to announce two new additions to the Pomeroy soccer team. On Thursday, August 29, Georgie Macy and Trista Littleton signed letters of intent to accept soccer scholarships with the Pomeroys for the 2013 season.
Georgie Macy comes to SMWC from Owen Valley High School in Spencer, Ind. All four seasons, Macy was the starting goalkeeper for the Patriots. During her high school career, Macy was named to the All-Western Conference Team and was also honored as her team’s Most Valuable Player. Her athleticism and skill in the goal has made her an excellent prospect for college soccer. She will be the lone goalkeeper for the Pomeroys this season and should continue to excel in her position over the course of her college career.
Trista Littleton joins the Pomeroys from Culver, Ind. She attended Culver Community High School and was a member of the Cavalier soccer team for two seasons. She excelled on the field as a defender and was awarded the Mental Attitude Award during her senior year. At Culver, Littleton was also actively involved with the cheer and track & field team. Her work ethic and positive attitude makes her an excellent addition to the Pomeroy soccer team.
Coach Mike Aycock is pleased to have both Macy and Littleton as members of this year’s team. “With her agility and ability to play with her feet, having Georgie in goal will change the way we can defend,” said Aycock. “I predict that Trista will outwork every other player on the team in concentration and training, bringing us an example we can all follow. We're lucky to have them both.”
