Campus Security
The security department is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods community.
For emergencies: call 6200, or 812-535-6200 from an outside phone.
Non-emergencies: call 5253, 812-535-5253 from an outside phone.
The security department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All security officers are uniformed, trained in basic first aid and CPR procedures.
All members of the College community are directed to report any incidents, policy violations or crimes to the Campus Life Staff or the Security Department. Incident Report forms are available in the Student Development office as well as from a security officer. Persons are encouraged to report any suspicious activities and are assured that the confidentiality of such reports will be honored. The vice president for Student Life will, when appropriate, notify the community in writing that a potentially serious situation exists that may pose a threat to the safety and well-being of the members of the community. The Student Development Department in cooperation with the Security Department annually reviews procedures regarding alcohol and drug abuse, sexual assault, and emergency/safety.
