How much time will I spend studying per week?

Time spent studying and completing assignments will differ based on the difficulty of the course and your learning style, strengths, and weaknesses.  A reasonable expectation is about 10 - 12 hours per week for a 3-hour course.

How much focus do I need to complete courses on my own?

A personal commitment and good time management skills are needed to stay on schedule. The flexibility of the Woods External Degree program allows students to set their own schedules and due dates for projects - which is convenient, but potentially troublesome if the student fails to keep up with their coursework. It will be important to set aside scheduled study time.  Your first semester is designed as a transition period to allow you to adapt to the independent study approach of the WED program.

What if I get stuck on a problem or assignment?

You instructor is always just an email or phone call away.  Additionally, online support resources including tutoring, training videos, and multimedia resources are available.
