The English program at SMWC will teach you to communicate creatively and effectively in your career. The English program requires each student to complete an internship. This internship opportunity allows students to step outside their comfort zone and gain hands-on, real-world experiences. Our degree programs provide the flexibility to lead you to the career of your dreams. With your professional advisors helping you along the way, you can mix and match majors and minors to get the perfect degree tailored to you and your career aspirations. Plus, you’ll graduate with a strong foundation in liberal arts.

With a curriculum total of 43 credit hours, you will study the history of literature and its impact on cultures worldwide. Additionally, you’ll learn public relations and creative writing skills to give you realistic understandings to take with you beyond the classroom. You can publish your works in SMWC’s literary magazine, Aurora, as well as have opportunities for intellectual exploration and in-depth interactions with your professors. You could even tack on our literature or writing minors to help deepen your creativity and communication skills.
