Equine Holiday Ride At The Woods
December 5th, 2011 | By Dee Reed
At Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, traditions abound. Yet, none quite like the tradition of the annual Equine Holiday Ride on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011. The seniors, faculty, staff and special guests of the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Department of Equine Studies ride majestic horses singing Christmas carols as they journey across the campus. Students and their horses will be decorated in holiday garb. The public and the campus community are welcome to enjoy the sound of jingle bells, clip-clop of the horses hooves and Christmas carols to celebrate the season.
President Dottie King, Ph.D. will join the seniors as she rides horseback and spreads Christmas cheer.
All times are approximate. For those visiting campus, please use extreme caution while driving around the horses.
10:00 am – Providence Center
10:15 am - Hulman Hall and Le Fer Hall (between both buildings)
11:00 am - The Rooney Library and Guerin Hall (between both buildings)
The Mari Hulman George School of Equine Studies at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is the only equine studies program in Indiana, and one of only 20 in the U.S. to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in equine studies. Three majors are available: Equine Studies, Equine Training and Instruction, and Equine Business Management.
