Arts community launches literary magazines

News | 05.03.2016

Students at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), Indiana State University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology gathered April 29 in a joint celebration to launch their respective literary magazines. Approximately 60 people participated in the annual event that showcased works of art and literature.  At the event, contributors to magazines read from their published poetry and prose, and art from the issues were exhibited. Bringing together the arts community of three local institutions provided students with a unique opportunity to share their passion, connect and learn from each other.

Aurora, SMWC’s literary magazine features works by students, staff and alums of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, photography and art. Aurora has been a part of the College’s history for 146 years. Edited by undergraduate students and supported by the Department of Languages and Literature, this tradition highlights artistic work that spans genre and generations alike.
