Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) is listed among the top online programs nationally in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 Best Online Undergraduate Programs. SMWC’s Woods Online undergraduate program is included in the rankings of 290 institutions nationwide.

“We are proud to again be recognized as a leader in online education,” said Dottie King, Ph.D., president of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. “This serves as a reminder of our dedication to online education and the high quality educational experiences students have come to expect from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.”

The U.S. News rankings are based on several key measures including student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology and peer reputation. The largest percentage of the methodology focuses on creating experiences so rewarding that students stay enrolled and completed their degrees in a reasonable amount of time.

“Our longevity and success can be attributed to a combination of faculty engagement and accessibility, innovative use of technology and a commitment to student support,” King added.

Since 1979, SMWC has educated women and men all over the country in its distance program. Currently, students in 32 states and two countries (Canada and Greece) are continuing their education through Woods Online. Whether expanding a current skill set, or looking to complete a degree, these working adults are empowered to lead and master critical thinking, problem solving and effective communication skills – all attributes desired by today’s employers. SMWC also provides internship opportunities for its Woods Online students, often in their own communities, allowing them to network with those in their field of study prior to graduation.
