Haunting good time at The Woods

News | 10.07.2011

The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Music (SMWC) Therapy Club will host a hair-raising fun time on Saturday, October 29, 2011 with the second annual Halloween Haunted Conservatory.  The chilling event will be held at the Conservatory of Music on the College campus from 9 p.m. to midnight.

“Last year, this event brought the music and theatre department together,” said Nicole Wieg, music major and co-coordinator of the event. “We want to continue the tradition of providing a fun and safe environment for Halloween lovers,” added Weig.

The Haunted Conservatory includes two floors for visitors to experience.  Guests will be treated to a short introductory movie, produced by the music and theatre students of SMWC.  The students will serve as tour guides and escort the brave to the second floor of frights. Those too young to be spooked will remain on the main floor and visit the children’s activity stations. All activities will reoccur throughout the night.

The event is open to the public.  Admission is a free-will donation.  All proceeds will be used to support the SMWC Madrigals, who will be traveling on 11-day choir tour to France in May 2012.  Madrigals will visit many well-known historical sites, sing in some of the greatest churches of France, and visit the birthplace of SMWC founder, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and the motherhouse of the Sisters of Providence in France.
