Email Conversion - Updated 5-8-09
Posted on: 03/05
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is converting its email system to Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Web Access. Many of the features and functions are similiar in nature, just different in location and format. For most users, email address, username and password will remain the same. You can access the new system using the web address, https://email.smwc.edu/exchange. Internet Explorer and Safari users will need to click the link that says “Continue to this website.” FireFox users should click the link that says “Or you can add an exception...” and then follow the wizard to add the exception.
Old Emails: Even though we are 90% ready with new email, older e-mails are taking a bit longer to transition from the older GroupWise system to the new Outlook system. If your old emails are not in your email, you have not lost them, but they will be slowly trickling into your mailboxes over the next few days.
WED students, your email password should have been reset to the last six digits of your student ID number. To reset the password after logging in, click the Options link next to your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. From the Options area, click the Change Password link along the left hand side of your screen. From there, follow the prompts on your screen to change and save your new password.
D2L should be operational, though there may be times as we complete the “external conversion” that it will either be a bit slow or unavailable for brief periods. This should all clear up by close of business on March 6, 2009.
During this conversation process, access to email, remote resources and other college services will be intermittent. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you need technical assistance, please contact the helpdesk at 812-535-1177.

I was wondering the same thing. Where is all of my stuff; saved messages, new messages, contact info? My inbox, sent, deleted folders all say they are empty.

Any students in the AR530 Clinical Art Therapy I course please send me an email to my home email address on your syllabus. That way I can return papers and have contact. Forward this message to anyone in the group who you know their home/work email

I am an instructor in the grad Art Therapy program. I need access to my email as soon as possible. My p___word does not work. I can not write the word in full because your program thinks it is a bad word. My login works. I use Safari and Firefox and I need specific directions in writing for what exceptions I need to use or do. But for some reason my p---word does not work. I listened to your helpdesk message. Please contact me because I can not grade and send papers back to distance learning students without this remedied. I left my phone number on the voice mail for help desk.
