SMWC Art Gallery features Sacred Faces exhibit November 5-25

The Saint Mary of the Woods College (SMWC) Art Gallery’s next exhibition will feature the photographs of artist Wolfgang Schmidt. The exhibition, Sacred Faces, will be on display Nov. 5 through Nov. 25. An opening reception will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Schmidt's images document people from other cultures, capturing the human face as the site of a sacred intercultural exchange. Originally from Germany, Schmidt now lives in Granger, Indiana. He has exhibited his photographic project, Sacred Faces, internationally, including the South Bend Regional Museum of Art in South Bend, Indiana; Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana; Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan; Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable, Massachusetts; and Bad Neuenahr Augustinum in Bonn, Germany.
