SMWC Softball TeamThe Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Softball Team is currently in Decatur, Ill., at the 2009 United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship Softball Tournament. The team is looking to capture its third USCAA national title in a row. During the 2008 tournament, the team captured its second USCAA national title in a row and its sixth in the last seven years.

The SMWC Team earned the No. 2 seed and is competing in the tournament along with Robert Morris University – Springfield (No. 1 seed), Saint Catharine College (No. 3 seed), Southern Virginia University (No. 4 seed), St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn (No. 5 seed), Briarcliffe College (No. 6 seed), Judson College (No. 7 seed), and Penn State University – Beaver (No. 8 seed).

Robert Morris College – Springfield, is hosting the USCAA National Tournament Softball Tournament May 5-8 at Borg Warner Softball Complex. The SMWC Softball Team was scheduled to play their first game today (May 6, 2009) at 12 p.m. EST (11 a.m. CST) against Judson College.
