Tribune-Star: Distance learning has solid higher ed option

Blake Devereaux’s letter in the Tribune-Star (“Online Degrees are Farces and Frauds”, Jan. 1, 2009) raises many issues; most importantly, he may not fully understand contemporary higher education. Today two-thirds of all colleges and universities in the United States provide distance education for students, from single courses to complete degree programs.
