Woods Online Scholarships and Financial Aid
Students enrolled in the Woods Online program are eligible for a wide variety of institutional scholarships and federal student aid. In many cases, the amount of aid received is based upon financial need and course load.
Institutional Scholarships
The following scholarship and grant programs are offered by Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College:
- Continuing Education Grant
$2,000 grant awarded yearly for up to three years. Available to students who have previously acquired an Associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning which has an articulation agreement with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. - Corporate Connection Discount
The corporate connection program is a partnership with local organizations and businesses. Employees of partner organizations are eligible to receive a 10% tuition discount. Check to see if your company is on the list. If not, have your organizations Human Resources staff contact us - it's easy to become a partner. - Distance to Campus Scholarship
Students who would like to transfer to the campus program will be eligible to receive institutional aid if the student has completed at least one year in the distance program. The SMWC distance transcript will be used in determining the merit award. Campus based aid will replace all distance aid given. Student will not be eligible for any other types of institutional aid (i.e. athletic or PVA awards). - Ivy Tech Grants
Graduates of Ivy Tech wishing to continue their education may be eligible to receive an Ivy Tech Grant. - Military / Veteran Spouse Grant
$3,000 grant award to the spouse of military service members who have served on active duty or are currently serving in the reserves, renewable yearly for the duration of the degree program (requires documentation in the form of DD-214 or NOBE). - Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to qualifying members of the National Phi Theta Kappa organization who are admitted to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. In order to qualify, individuals must enroll in the Woods Online program as degree-seeking student . No separate application is required for this scholarship. The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is renewable for up to three years, as long as the student maintains a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress toward a degree.

Federal and State-Based Financial Aid and Grants
Woods Online program students are fully eligible to receive financial assistance if they meet and maintain certain requirements. These conditions will vary from source to source. Feel free to contact the Office of Financial Aid with questions, or for assistance with applying for federal and state-based financial aid.
Woods Online students may be eligible to receive:
- federal direct-lending subsidized and unsubsidized student loans,
- federal Perkins loans,
- Indiana education grants, and
- other federal and Indiana state-based aid.
