Personal Attention

The hands-down best thing about life at The Woods is the people. You can go and talk to a professor or staff member and it feels like you're talking to family. We are even on a first-name or nickname basis with our professors. They encourage it.

Reaching Higher Ground

Ever have a high school teacher who made everything "click" for you? One who knew you as a student - your strengths, your weaknesses, your challenges, your aspirations - and were able to offer support, encouragement, and guidance accordingly; accepting only your best and holding you to standards that tested your endurance?

This is the faculty experience you'll get at The Woods. Our small, seminar-style classes make it possible for faculty to get to know you really well - they may even see your talent before you do, and they'll take the time to help you fully develop it. When we say you'll receive one-on-one personal attention from your professors, we mean it. SMWC faculty will help you grow and learn at your own pace, they'll engage you in discussions and encourage participation that will allow you to develop your own voice.

Community

It's easy to make your mark on The Woods community. With our clubs & organizations, residencies, and friendly atmosphere you'll be able to share your aspirations and passions with new friends composed of faculty, staff, and fellow students. Campus students have more than 30 different student clubs and organizations to participate in to further develop their leadership skills, share their experience, and gain life-long friends.
