Week Two Camps - June 20-24, 2016

Equestrian Camp for Intermediate Riders

Day camp for girls and boys entering grades 3-12

Building from the beginner equine camp, campers will work on more advanced techniques and form. They will need to know how to saddle and mount the horse without assistance as well as walk, trot and canter.

9:00 am – 4:00 pm  (8:45 arrival, 4:15 pm pickup)

Equestrian Camp for Advanced Riders

Day camp for girls and boys entering grades 3-12

Receive one-on-one instruction in specific areas of interest, trouble shoot areas for improvement, get ready for show season, learn a number of different aspects of the equine industry and learn the importance of form to function for horse owners. Campers must bring their own horse for this advanced rider camp.

The Oakley Academy – Environmental Science Camp

The Oakley Academy will be a five day camp emphasizing ecology and the environment. The focus will be on our own Lake Le Fer and its habitat restoration with outdoor fieldwork and hands-on activities that include identifying common local species, addressing habitat and biological diversity, and testing soil and water quality. Enjoy traditional camp activities on the beautiful campus of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Open to girls entering grades 6-9 as of September, 2016
Cost: $225

Nursing Camp

Day camp for girls and boys entering grades 9-12

Experience hands-on activities including a trip to a simulation center, ambulance simulation, mini-medical lectures, nutritional lectures and a focus on professional careers in the health field.

Singer/Songwriter Camp

Day camp for girls and boys entering grades 9-12

Basic theory for songwriters, protecting your voice, analyzing hit songs, using music technology, turning an idea into a song, simple accompaniment patterns and performing/recording a song.

Requirements: Must be able to play piano or guitar (private lessons for at least 1 year or equivalent skill), Must be able to read at least treble clef, must be willing to sing and play in front of camp peers.
