Top Ten on 10 Scholarship Competition
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) and WTHI-TV will present over $135,000 in scholarships to female high school seniors in the WTHI viewing area. The renewable scholarship awards recognize female students with strong academic backgrounds, demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to community service. Two scholarships recipients will be chosen each month in November, December, January and February. Out of these eight scholarship recipients, two will be selected to receive a renewable $24,000 scholarship. $24,000 scholarship recipients will be announced in March.

Deadlines
To be considered for the scholarship each month, all materials must be received at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College by 4:30 pm on the last Friday of the month. Materials received after the deadline will be considered for the following month's competition. Applicants do not need to resubmit their materials. If a student is not awarded a scholarship, her application will automatically roll over to the next month's competition.

Eligibility
Any female student enrolled in grade 12 in a public, private, parochial or homeschool in the WTHI viewing are is eligible to apply. The Top Ten on 10 committee will choose a monthly recipient based on academic records, leadership and community service roles, high school/community references and a written essay. The student must apply and be admitted to SMWC to be awarded a scholarship.

STEP 1 - Apply to SMWC
In order to qualify for the Top Ten on 10 scholarship, you first need to apply to the college. Applying for admission is easy and free. Don't forget to have your high-school send transcripts. Other requirements will be detailed during the application process.
STEP 3 - Letters of Recommendations
Have at least one individual who is familiar with your academic background or community leadership submit a letter or form of recommendation. Recommendations from school officials or community leaders are strongly encouraged.
Please note: This letter of recommendation is different from those required in the college application.
