Information Technology
The department of Information Technology mission is to support the users of computing devices in the college community and to provide strategic planning for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College technology infrastructure.
Have a technology problem?
Here's how to get support.
Faculty, staff, and students of The Woods can contact the help desk by the following methods:
Open a Help Desk Ticket Online - use our online help desk to open your trouble ticket and describe your problem. Provide as much information as possible to receive a timely solution.
Call the help desk at (812) 535-1177 - during normal business hours Monday-Friday to speak to a IT representative.
Make an appointment to stop by the Office - We welcome users to stop by the IT Office (in the basement of the Library), however due to workloads, all visitors needing IT support must schedule an appointment.
Other ways of solving problems
Contact AHA (After Hours Assistant) - AHA is staffed by student representatives knowledgeable with SMWC's technology. They can assist you with common problems and help you open a help desk ticket if you have a more complicated issue.
Password Reset System - If you've forgotten your password you can reset it yourself using the password reset system we have in place. If you haven't signed up for password reset - do it now, you need to have enrolled BEFORE you need to fix a problem!
Attention SMWC Faculty and Staff!
We have integrated a new Technology Purchasing and Support Request (TPSR) process to assist with choosing the right technology for the college's needs. If you need IT to help support or integrate any hardware or software into our campus systems, you must follow the proper procedures to purchase and schedule the integration.
When should you use TPSR?
- When using college funds to purchase new computer equipment or other hardware that connects to the SMWC network or SMWC owned devices.
- When using college funds to purchase new software applications or upgrades that will be installed on the SMWC network or SMWC owned devices.
- When you expect IT to support your device after you buy it!
