Current Student Senators
As a member of Student Senate, one serves as an honorable representative for the student body by listening to her peers and providing a powerful voice. Senate members meet on a weekly basis and aid in making our campus a more enjoyable community.
Name: Stephanie Runyon, President
Grade: Senior
Major: Secondary English Education, French Minor
Reason for joining Senate: I wanted to help take the student voice and bring it to action. At the time, I didn't think the student voice was being heard, so I wanted to change that.
Additional activities on campus: Cross Country, Resident Assistant, Enrollment Ambassador, Tutor, Future Teachers of America (FTA) Member
Name: Sherry Bube, Vice-President
Grade: Junior
Major: Music Therapy, Psychology Minor, Honors Program
Reason for joining Senate: To provide opportunities for my fellow students to develop their leadership abilities, to promote positive change on campus and the surrounding community, and to address concerns of the student body.
One interesting fact: Once served as the youngest legislative representative in the State of Indiana for the community LCC (Local Coordinating Council for a Drug-Free Indiana) for seven years.
Additional activities on campus: Vice President for the Music Therapy Club, Member of Presidential Corps, International Student Assistant, Member of Chorale and Madrigals musical vocal ensembles, Member of Peace and Justice Club, Vice President for World Wide Woodsies, Actress in the Theatre Department theatrical productions

Major: Art Education, Spanish Minor
Reason for joining Senate: I wanted to get more involved with the college and help make change happen; therefore, I thought Senate was a good fit for me.
One interesting fact about me: I am partially color blind.

Reason for joining Senate: I saw what they were accomplishing and I decided to join and be a part of it.
One Interesting fact: I love making jewelry, knitting, and crocheting.

Reason for joining Senate: I want to be actively involved in making the student experience at SMWC as good as it can be for all students, and especcially commuters.
One interesting fact about myself: I am very interested in human rights activism and community service.

Reason for joining Senate: I joined senate because I have always enjoyed working in a leadership position and I like knowing that I can make a difference where ever I go.

Reason for joining Senate: Since I am a commuter student, it is sometimes difficult to fully interact with the campus community. By joining Senate, I feel as though I am better able to connect with the students, and it feels great to be able to represent them.
One interesting fact: I have approximately 1,000 movies in my movie collection.
