Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is an incredibly rich and vibrant academic community. Amazing opportunities await you here. Orientation will introduce you to the services and resources that you will need to get the most out of life at SMWC. For the fall term, first-year orientation always begins on the Thursday (August 22, 2013) before classes begins and continues through the weekend. For our students that work and have family commitments, we ask that you make arrangements that alllow you to be here during those four days. 

For our students who have attended College before and have 24 accepted credits, orientation is on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 4 p.m.

FAQs

Is everyone required to attend?
Each student new to The Woods is required to attend Orientation.  Even if you have attended College elsewhere, you will want to become familiar with our community and our traditions. During Orientation you will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet other students new to The Woods.

Should my parents come with me?

Your parents are welcome to attend the beginning informational session. This is a perfect opportunity for them to meet some of the staff and to get any remaining questions answered. After the initial meeting, the sessions will be student-focused.

I plan to live on campus. When can I move into the residence hall?

You may begin moving into your room at 8:30 a.m. on the first day of your orientation. 

I am a commuter and have a job off campus. Will I be able to work that day?
While we understand the importance of work given today's living expenses, we do ask that you ask your employer not to schedule you for work on this day.
