Students enrolled in the graduate programs are eligible for a wide variety of institutional scholarships and federal/state (Indiana) student aid.

The criteria listed determine eligibility only and do not guarantee receipt of the scholarship. All scholarships are subject to reduction or replacement by other offers or awards.

MLD Scholarships

MLD Merit Scholarship

Amount:

  • 3.76 cumulative GPA or higher
    • One year track: up to $2,500/yr. =  ($1,250 per semester)
    • Two year track: up to  $1,250/yr.= ($625 per semester)
  • 3.25 – 3.75 cumulative GPA 
    • One year track: up to $1,500/yr. =  ($750 per semester)
    • Two year track: up to $750/yr.= ($375 per semester)

Qualifications: Qualifying students in the MLD program as a degree-seeking student.  Students are required to have the minimum undergraduate GPA stated above from their most recent undergraduate degree. Can be combined with the MLD Alum award only. Awards amounts are based on enrollment status and must be used towards tuition only.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a minimum academic cumulative GPA for the program and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree. The award is divided based upon number of semesters the student is enrolled in the program.

MLD Alum Grant

Amount: One year track: $500/yr. – Two year track: $250/yr.

Qualifications: Qualifying students in the MLD program as a degree-seeking student. Student must be a graduate of SMWC. Students are required to have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above. Can only be combined with MLD merit towards tuition only.

MHA Scholarships

MHA Merit Scholarship

Amount:

  • 3.76 cumulative GPA or higher
    • Up to $2,500 for the program ($1,250 per semester, for a total of two semesters).
  • 3.25 – 3.75 cumulative GPA 
    • One year track: up to $1,500 for the program ($750 per semester, for a total of two semesters).

Qualifications: Qualifying students in the MHA program as a degree-seeking student.  Students are required to have the minimum undergraduate GPA stated above from their most recent undergraduate degree. Can be combined with the MHA Alum award only. Awards amounts are based on enrollment status and must be used towards tuition only.

MHA Alum Grant

Amount: $500 for the program.

Qualifications: Qualifying students in the MHA program as a degree-seeking student. Student must be a graduate of SMWC. Students are required to have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above. Can only be combined with MHA merit towards tuition only.

MAAT Scholarships

MAAT Scholarship

Amount: up to $1,000 (fall & spring semester only)

Qualifications: Qualifying students in the MAAT program as a degree-seeking student. Students are required to have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.75 or higher and complete all Admission requirements.

Renewable Requirements:  Students must maintain a minimum academic cumulative GPA for the program and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

MAMT Scholarships

MAMT Scholarship

Amount:

  • GPA 3.76 or greater =  up to $1,000/yr.  (fall & spring semester only)
  • GPA 3.2 – 3.75 = up to $500/yr.  (fall & spring semester only)

Qualifications: Qualifying students in the MAMT program as a degree-seeking student. Students are required to have a minimum undergraduate GPA as mentioned above and complete all Admission requirements.

Renewable Requirements:  Students must maintain a minimum academic cumulative GPA for the program and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

MAMT Graduate Assistantship: Graduate/Teaching Assistant

Qualifications: Board Certification in Music Therapy; admission into MA in Music Therapy program.

Requirements: Must live within 60 minutes of campus.

Qualifications: Board Certification in Music Therapy; admission into MA in Music Therapy program.

Requirements: Must have prior experience as a Clinical Supervisor and be willing to commit to at least 2 consecutive semesters to this position.

Military Scholarships

Military / Veteran Spouse Grant

Amount: Up to $3,000 awards towards the cost of tuition only.

  • MLD/MHA – One year track: $3,000/yr. – Two year track: $1,500/yr.
  • MAAT/MAMT: $3,000/yr. based on full-time enrollment

Qualifications: Qualifying admitted Graduate students attending SMWC in a degree seeking program can receive the award for the duration of their enrollment, towards tuition only. The grant is awarded to the military service members (or their spouse) who has served or is serving on active duty. Documentation required in the form of DD-214 or NOBE and marriage certificate (if applicable). No separate applications required. Cannot be combined with any other awards.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain the required cumulative GPA for their program and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

Post-9/11 GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program:

Amount: The Indiana State highest cost of tuition as determined by Veterans Administration. SMWC and VA will award funds to cover the total cost of tuition and fees.

Qualifications: Qualifications determined by the Department of Veteran Affairs as determined by the Post 911 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program requirements. Cannot be combined.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of eight semesters.
