Students enrolled in the Woods Online program are eligible for a variety of institutional scholarships and federal/state (Indiana) student aid.

The criteria listed determine eligibility only and do not guarantee receipt of the scholarship.  All scholarships are subject to reduction or replacement by other offers or awards.

Transfer Scholarships

SMWC Transfer Grant

Amount: Up to $2,000 award towards the direct educational cost. Dollar amount is based on enrollment status.

Qualifications: Admitted, degree-seeking student in the Woods Online program as at least half-time status can receive the award for the duration of their enrollment. The student must transfer a minimum of 12 credit hours from a regional/nationally accredited school with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Cannot be combined with any other transfer award.

Renewable Requirements: Student must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA, be at least half-time status and making satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship.

Non-Transfer Scholarships

SMWC Woods Online Scholarship (Freshmen)

Amount: Up to $2,000 award towards the direct educational costs. Dollar amount is based on enrollment status.

Qualifications: Admitted, degree-seeking student in the Woods Online program as at least half-time status can receive the award for the duration of their enrollment. Applies to students who are entering college for the first time with a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 or passing TASC (formerly GED).  Cannot be combined with other transfer related scholarships.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA, be at least half-time status and making satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

SMWC Legacy Grant

Amount: Up to $1,000 award towards the direct educational costs. Dollar amount is based on enrollment status.

Qualifications: Admitted, degree-seeking student in the Woods Online program as at least half-time status can receive the award for the duration of their enrollment. The student must be a descendent of an SMWC graduate or current student (who has completed at least 12 hours at SMWC). The relative must be a parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt/uncle, niece/nephew, in-law or direct cousin. Can combine only with the SMWC Transfer or SMWC Freshman award.  Students enrolled in the RN to BSN program or who are receiving the military or IN Teach rate are not eligible.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA, be at least half-time status and making satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship.

Post 911 GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program

Amount: The state of Indiana’s highest cost of tuition as determined by the Veterans Administration. SMWC and VA will award funds to cover the total cost of tuition and fees.

Qualifications: Qualifications determined by the Department of Veteran Affairs as determined by the Post 911 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program requirements. Cannot be combined.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship.
