Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College’s music and theatre department presents The Spitfire Grill at the Conservatory of Music February 23-25. The Spitfire Grill, a heartfelt and thought proving musical, by Fred Alley, James Valcq and Lee David Zlotoff.
A spirited parolee, makes a fresh start in a small town in Wisconsin and finds herself working at Hannah’s Spitfire Grill. The Grill is for sale but there are no buyers for the only restaurant in town. The newcomer suggests that the restaurant be raffled off. Entry fees are one hundred dollars and the best essay on why you want the grill wins. Soon, raffle entries begin pouring in and a shift occurs at The Spitfire Grill and throughout the town.
“The Spitfire Grill” won the audience award at the 1996 Sundance Film Festival.
