By Hannah Harvey, senior environmental science major

My time at The Woods will truly stay with me forever. I have gotten the amazing opportunity to connect with many alumni through my time working at Reunions. We shared memories and made new ones together. I have spent a lot of my time here volunteering and working to improve the community. The various events have even given me the chance to meet many Sisters of Providence and build connections with them.
Being involved with the Chorale and Madrigals has created such special memories for me. It has helped me grow in my faith as we sing praises. The sisterhood and connections between these girls, alumni and all past generations of singers at The Woods, including our foundress, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, will stay with each of us for a lifetime. I will absolutely miss participating in all the beautiful traditions here, such as the Acorn and Oak Leaf Ceremonies.

I hope that the connections I have made with my peers and with faculty and staff will only continue to grow after graduating. I am looking forward to seeing what the future generations of Pomeroys create and how they will help this campus community grow and thrive. I cannot wait to continue supporting Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, its students and its overall values after my time as a student has come to a close.

Hannah Harvey will graduate in May 2025 with her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. A Terre Haute native, she enjoys volunteering in the community, reading books, traveling and being outdoors. During her time at The Woods, Hannah has been involved in Service31, Chorale, Madrigals and has served in roles as a Reunion student worker, SMTG Scholar and member of Leadership Council. She looks forward to coming back to visit The Woods and staying connected.
