The 11th Annual Woods Giving Day is set for Feb. 10 at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), but generous donors have already helped raise $1,646,035 through an Early Giving Challenge.
The Early Giving Challenge set a goal to raise $550,000 between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31. This allowed SMWC to receive a $450,000 challenge match from two generous alumni.
The momentum will continue into Woods Giving Day with various challenges throughout the day to reach the goal of 1,200 donors on Feb.10.
This year’s Woods Giving Day goal is to raise $1 million and reach 1,200 unique donors. A challenge from Mary Kay Campbell Watson ’69 and Al Watson will help SMWC unlock $70,000 by reaching the 1,200 WGD ’26 donor goal on Feb. 10.
Last year, Woods Giving Day set a new record by raising $1,014,407 with the support of 1,266 donors.
“We’re very thankful to everyone who participated in our Give Early Challenge, and we’re looking forward to the excitement that WGD ’26 brings. This day wouldn’t be possible without the support from our volunteers, donors and community partners,” said Elizabeth Reel ’21, ’25MLD, advancement officer at the College.
