History

In 2015, the Sisters of Providence were looking for a new home for their archives due to impending renovations. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College offered a temporary solution with storage in Le Fer Hall, with a long-term goal of combining both institutions’ archives together in Rooney Library. Following a year of work to enhance the protection and storage of documents, the Sisters’ archives were moved in with The College’s archives in August of 2022 to create the combined SMW Archives.
