SMWC announces new dining partnership with Aladdin Campus Dining

News | 06.27.2023

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Aladdin Campus Dining, a higher education food service management leader. Aladdin will begin dining services on July 1.

Aladdin was selected for its high-quality culinary expertise, hospitable services and flavors of home brands that feature comfort foods that students crave. Meal plans will remain the same for students.

President Dottie L. King, Ph.D., said about the selection, “After looking at many options, the College felt that Aladdin could best serve the campus needs of our diverse population. The College leadership is delighted to announce this new partnership.” The change of providers will not affect the meal plan program for students in the fall.

Based on a 2022 Grub Hub campus dining trends report from its more than 270 partnered colleges, students want warm and convenient food. Aladdin delivers menus that meet students’ needs, including the Flame Grill and Classic Kitchen, which offers homestyle and local favorites such as scratch-made cooking, country kitchen flavors, fresh and local produce and made-to-order action station.

Students will also enjoy Local Deli with fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, hand-crafted pasta and hand-stretched pizza dough from the Sauce and Stone. The Sweet Shop, Aladdin’s dessert concept, will also feature an onsite baker who will prepare decadent cakes and homemade cookies.

For those students looking for healthier options, Greens Salad Bar offers leafy greens and vegetables to accommodate healthy and vegan lifestyles. Students will also be able to select healthy choice menu options and learn about nutrition and wellness through Aladdin’s BeWell platform.

The Market will continue to offer convenient grab-and-go solutions where students can select from freshly made sandwiches, salads, snacks, candy and bottled beverages.

Ranked nationally in the top three most popular restaurant chains among college students, We Proudly Serve Starbucks will continue to be available in the Woods Café, where students can enjoy their favorite handcrafted espressos, blended beverages, coffee, freshly prepared sandwiches and snacks on the go.
