Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) is pleased to announce that Missie Schwab, CPA, MBA, ‘10MLD, has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer. President Brennan Randolph made the announcement on Monday. Schwab has been serving as a consultant to the College since late 2024, bringing her extensive expertise and leadership to the institution.
Schwab’s impressive career spans over 20 years in nonprofit financial leadership. Prior to joining SMWC, she served as the Chief Financial Officer at Communities In Schools, Dallas Region in Texas. Her academic achievements include a Master of Leadership Development from SMWC (2010) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Francis (Illinois) (2012). She also holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration, accounting and marketing from Lakeland University.
Her professional journey includes notable roles such as Finance Director for the City of Wilmer, Texas, Director of Finance for Community Service, Inc., Director of Accounting for the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas and Controller for CTNet Statewide Clinical Trials of Texas. Schwab also managed her own tax and accounting practice, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to financial excellence.
Schwab’s connection to SMWC is longstanding, having previously served as the controller at The Woods from 2006 to 2012. Her return to the College marks a significant milestone in her career and a valuable addition to the SMWC community.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Schwab is a devoted mother of seven, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She enjoys reading, gardening and camping, reflecting her well-rounded and vibrant personality.
