“Stories from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Historic District”

In partnership with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, the Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute will exhibit “Stories from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Historic District,” through October 4, 2021. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Historic District represents a large collection of architectural design by Bohlen and Son, of Indianapolis. Curated from lofty attics to basement crypts, “Stories” presents vignettes of history showcased through architectural drawings, photographs and original design elements from the Historic District, building connection to our own lives and to the value of preservation. The exhibit has been made possible through a Historic Preservation Education Grant from Indiana Landmarks, Indiana Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Humanities, and by the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau.
