Name: Jeanna Erin Brown
Major: Biology
Hometown: Carmel, Indiana

1. Why did you choose SMWC?
I chose SMWC because I wanted to further my education at an institution that not only values students’ educational growth, but also spiritual development, growth and success of the individual.
2. Why did you choose your major?
When it comes to the medical field, people of color, specifically African American women, are underrepresented. I want to serve the underrepresented community in the sciences and contribute to research that develops and improves cognitive therapeutics.
3. What is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the Blessed Sacrament Chapel (also known as the Blue Chapel) in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Dedicating time to pray and hold space for God has been extremely beneficial to my college success.
4. What is a favorite memory you have from your Woods experience?
My favorite memory from The Woods has to be celebrating Ring Day with my family, as well as my Woodsie family.
5. How do you plan to stay connected to SMWC after graduating?
SMWC has given me friendships that will last a lifetime. Not only do I plan to come back for Homecoming with those friends to stay connected, but I also plan to make those friends my future bridesmaids, maid of honor and godparents. I plan to stay connected to SMWC by taking the connections I have made at The Woods out into the world.
