Name: Tahsha White
Major: Music Therapy Equivalency Distance
Hometown: Ferndale, Washington
1. Why did you choose SMWC?
I was excited to discover a distance-based music therapy equivalency program that would build on my previous undergraduate degree in music while allowing me to continue the life I’ve established here in Washington State.
2. Why did you choose your major?
Ultimately, I wanted to use my musical talents and skills to help others and provide a holistic health service. I’ve always thought about joining a therapy field, and music therapy has let me combine my love of music with health.
3. What is your favorite place on campus?
The Conservatory of Music and Le Fer Lake and Trail.
4. What is a favorite memory you have from your Woods experience?
Being in Peter Meyer’s improvisation class was fun, exciting and scary all at once! It drew us together as a cohort.
5. How do you plan to stay connected to SMWC after graduating?
There are several of us connected through online music therapy groups. It’s already been a great resource as we have prepared for board exams, shared client experiences and discussed best approaches.
