Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) has once again been recognized among the top institutions in Indiana by U.S. News & World Report.
The 2027 rankings released earlier this week placed SMWC:
- Top 10 in Indiana – Overall Regional Universities Midwest
- Top 10 in Indiana — Private Colleges — Regional Universities Midwest
- Top 5 in Indiana — Best Value Schools — Regional Univerisities Midwest
- Top School in Indiana — Social Mobility — Regional Universities Midwest
“We are proud that U.S. News & World Report continues to recognize Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College among the leading institutions in Indiana and the Midwest,” said Janet Clark, provost/executive vice president for academic affairs. “Most notably, our position as Indiana’s top institution for Social Mobility among Regional Universities underscores our commitment to expanding opportunity and changing lives through education. These rankings reflect the dedication of our faculty and staff in helping students thrive while remaining true to our mission and values.”
This is the 18th consecutive year SMWC has been included in the U.S. News & World Report Rankings for America’s Best Colleges. The rankings, which use school and third-party data, are based on up to 13 indicators for regional colleges. The most heavily weighted factor is student outcomes, including graduation rates, first-year retention, Pell graduation rate and performance, federal loan debt and earnings five years after graduation.
