Office of Marketing and Communications

1. Explain your role at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College? (What’s your daily routine, what’s your role in big events on campus, what is your role with students, etc.)

As Content Marketing Manager, my daily routine varies. I craft written content, including news stories, blogs, press releases and more. I also have the responsibility of crafting and managing social media content. As a proud member of the Marketing and Communications team, I, along with my colleagues, am often involved in College events such as Homecoming and Reunion. One factor that I love about my job is that I get to connect with students on a weekly basis. Whether it’s recruiting students to be a part of a video/photo shoot or meeting with them to share their stories, I truly enjoy connecting and learning more about them.

In addition to my role, I also have the privilege of serving as Co-Advisor for the Junior Class and multiple committees at SMWC.

2. What do you enjoy most about SMWC?

The list could go on and on about what I enjoy most about working at SMWC. To highlight a few, though, I would say the community, the connection and the beauty.

As a 2021 alum, I learned during my time at The Woods that the community and people here genuinely care about you personally and professionally. They want you to succeed and are always some of your biggest cheerleaders. As an alum, there is a connection you always have to The Woods, and I’m thankful to be reminded of that connection every day when I pull through the front gates.

One phrase I constantly hear from anyone who has been to SMWC’s campus is, “Oh, that campus is just beautiful!” I couldn’t agree more. Many receive a sense of peace here, and it’s so unique that there are simply no words for it.

3. Tell us more about yourself? (Hobbies, family, community involvement, etc.)

Outside of working at The Woods, I wear several titles, including a proud aunt, dog mom and coffee enthusiast. I love going for walks in the park with my dog, spending time with family and friends and in the community – local markets, coffee shops, you name it! As a former student-athlete at SMWC, I can still be found on the soccer field in my hometown as the assistant coach for the girls’ soccer team at Sullivan High School.

4. Why should people become engaged with The Woods?

I’m a firm believer in Providence. Through trusting my faith, SMWC helped me grow in numerous ways. I gained skills and traits in myself that I didn’t even know I had. Whether it’s the traditions, the people or just the beautiful scenery that intrigues you about campus, I highly encourage anyone to come for a visit, attend an athletic event or even be engaged on our social media. Once you’re introduced to The Woods, it will always be a part of you.
