1. Why did you choose SMWC?
I chose SMWC because the moment I visited, it felt like home. The welcoming atmosphere, strong sense of community and opportunities for both academic and personal growth made it the perfect place for me. I knew the small class sizes would allow me to be known by name rather than a number. I knew SMWC was where I could challenge myself, build lasting friendships and create memories that would stay with me forever.

2. Why did you choose your major?
I chose Nursing as my major because I’ve always had a passion for helping others and making a difference in people’s lives. Growing up, I often found myself being the one friends and family turned to for comfort, and I realized how meaningful it felt to support someone in their time of need. Nursing allows me to combine compassion with knowledge, giving me the opportunity to care for patients during their most vulnerable moments. Nursing is a path where I can turn my natural compassion into a lifelong career; a career that allows me to help, heal and make a real difference every day.

3. What is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is Room 006 in Hulman Hall basement, where my close classmates and I go in between all of our classes. We have spent countless hours there studying, having conversations, relieving stress and laughing uncontrollably. That room holds a lot of memories for me and is one of my favorite places to be.

4. What is a favorite memory you have from your Woods experience?
One of my favorite memories from my Woods experience was receiving my ring. My ring isn’t just a piece of jewelry, but a symbol of my hard work, dedication and memories I created during my time at The Woods. Another one of my favorite memories was meeting my lifelong best friend. From the start, our connection was effortless and over time, Alyssa has become not just a friend, but a part of my family. She has shaped so many of my happiest memories. I will forever be in debt to The Woods for the family it has allowed me to gain!

5. How do you plan to stay connected to SMWC after graduating?
I plan to stay connected to SMWC after graduating by keeping in touch with the friends and mentors I have met along the way and returning to campus for alumni events. I also want to give back by supporting future students, whether that be through sharing my experience or being involved in alumni programs. No matter where life takes me, I will always remember how SMWC felt like home!
