Applying to our Graduate Programs
You can complete your application for admission online (click the Apply Online link above). Should you have any questions about the application or application process, please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions at (877) 309-7308 or (812) 535-5186. Additionally, you may want to review the instructions for applying online.
A note about Official College Transcripts
Federal law requires college transcripts be sent directly from the originating college where the coursework was completed. We cannot accept transcripts sent or delivered by students.
Requirements for specific graduate programs
Additional requirements for admission are dependent upon the program you choose to pursue. Specific requirements are below:
- Master of Art Therapy (MAAT)
- Master of Education (M.Ed.)
- Master of Leadership Development (MLD)
- Master of Music Therapy (MAMT)

MA Art Therapy (MAAT) Next Cohort Start Date: August 1, 2012

In order to apply for the Master of Art Therapy program, you must submit the following by April 30th:
- Completed application form (online or by mail)
Apply online now - Non-refundable application fee of $35 (waived for online applications)
- Completed application material checklist.
Download the checklist now (PDF) - Official transcript of all collegiate work (baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university required)
- Art Portfolio showcasing 15-20 images including drawings, paintings, ceramics, sculpture and art in other art media forms.
- Three letters of recommendation from someone knowledgeable of the applicant's professional or academic experience.

Other requirements include:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher on any undergraduate coursework.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher on any graduate coursework.
- Personal interview with Master of Art Therapy director and faculty.
- 12 credit hours in psychology, including courses in the following:
- Introduction to Psychology
- Life Span Developmental Psychology
- Abnormal Psychology
- Theories of Personality or Education Psychology
- 18 credit hours in studio art, including courses in the following:
- Drawing (3 credit hours)
- Painting (3 credit hours)
- Ceramics (3 credit hours)
- Sculpture (3 credit hours)
- Other art media (6 credit hours)
- Access to local registered art therapist near where the applicant lives.
Master of Education (M.Ed.) Next Cohort Start Date: Feb. 11, 2012

In order to apply for the Master of Education program, you must submit the following:
- Completed application form (online or by mail)

- Official transcripts of all collegiate work.
- Resume documenting a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
- One-to-two page essay describing your interest in the M.Ed. program and what you hope to gain from the program.
- Two letters or forms of recommendation.

- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0 or higher on any undergraduate coursework.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0 or higher on any graduate coursework.
- Access to WiFi-enabled laptop computer with Windows XP/Vista/7 or Mac OS 10 or higher.
- Access to a high-speed Internet connection (DSL, cable, etc.)
Master of Leadership Development (MLD) Next Cohort Start Date: February 4, 2012 (Campus).

- Resume documenting a minimum of two years of work experience.
- One-to-two page essay describing your interest in the MLD program, your selected Focus Area, and what you hope to gain from the program.
- Two letters or forms of recommendation

- Biographical statement.
- Audition tape showcasing musical talent.
- Two letters or forms of recommendation.

- Baccalaureate degree in music therapy from an accredited college or university.
- MT-BC Certificate (Board certified music therapist)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0 for all collegiate coursework.
- 9 credit hours of coursework in psychology (including Abnormal Psychology)
