Incoming Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) freshman and transfer students can meet with faculty and staff Friday, July 24 on campus for registration day.
Students can get to know their faculty advisor, learn about elective and major-specific courses and set their fall schedules. The $100 deposit fee has been waived for fall 2020 due to COVID-19. Students just need to contact the Office of Admissions to secure their spot at SMWC.
Informational tables will be set up where students and their families can get their questions answered by SMWC staff.
“Registration day at SMWC is unique because it is tailored to the student’s individual needs,” Darla Hopper, associate vice president for financial aid and admissions, said. “Not only do students meet with their academic advisors, they have the opportunity to meet with financial aid, campus life, club sports and athletic representatives and even explore our beautiful 311-acre campus.”
As families meet with faculty and staff in Le Fer Hall and Hulman Hall, they can also learn about the scholarships available. SMWC offers over $9 million in scholarships to students every year.
“When the student leaves the event, they are ready to begin their journey as a Pomeroy,” Hopper said.
SMWC faculty and staff are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. Masks are suggested for families visiting campus. High-traffic areas will be frequently sanitized.
Incoming students are encouraged to attend either a morning or afternoon session.
There is still time for students to enroll for fall 2020 with waived deposit fees by contacting the Office of Admissions at admissions@smwc.edu, by calling 812-535-5106 or toll free at 800-926-7692.
