Kyle Miller, head coach of the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women’s golf team, is excited about showing off his hometown during The Woods Invite golf tournament on March 10 and 11 at Idle Creek Golf Course. “It will be a great opportunity to showcase our great golf course in Terre Haute. Family and friends of SMWC will have the opportunity to watch our players compete and cheer them on.”
In total, about 54 players from six different colleges are scheduled to compete in the women’s and men’s tournaments. Miller is also thrilled that the residents at Idle Creek are embracing this event. “I know some residents will be displaying SMWC flags to cheer on our players. The new event area, Rick’s Garage, is open, and we can make use of that as well.”
Fans and spectators are encouraged to attend either or both days to cheer on the Pomeroys in their first hosted home invitational meet. Friday’s event will tee off at 11 a.m., and Saturday will have a 9 a.m. start time.
