This page gives details on the technology and online services that are used in the Woods Online program.
Passwords and further instructions for accessing our network are provided during initial registration.
Downloadable Software
Software Discounts and Downloads - Access to hundreds of dollars worth of Microsoft software is now available to select Woods Online students (depending on your courses / major). Please visit the website of the Office of Information Technology for details.
Official communication will be sent to your SMWC email address. You should always use your @smwc.edu email account when corresponding with College faculty and staff.
Username: Your SMWC email address is usually the 1st initial of your first name + your full last name followed by @smwc.edu. (Example: tstudent@smwc.edu)
Password: Your password will be provided to you during initial registration.
Access your email by visiting: https://email.smwc.edu
Attention AOL users: You may have difficulty connecting to SMWC webmail if you try to connect using AOL’s browser; therefore you need to connect to AOL and then open Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to access your SMWC email.
Desire 2 Learn (D2L)
Desire 2 Learn (D2L) is our online learning management system. Certain classes may use online features such as quizzes, assignment drop-boxes, and other online resources.
Username: Your Desire 2 Learn username is the same as your email address.
Password: Your password is the last six digits of your student ID.

MyRecords
MyRecords is our student portal site where semester grades and account information are stored.
Student ID (username): all nine digits of your student ID number.
PIN (password): Social Security Number (no dashes)

ID Card
In order to use any services on site at the SMWC Rooney Library or the libraries at Indiana State University or Rose-Hulman, you will need to activate your new ID card. In order to activate the card you will need to do one of the following:
- Take the card to Rooney Library
- Call the Rooney Library (812) 535-5223 or (812) 535-5252
- Email the Rooney Library at library@smwc.edu
If you call or email, you will need to have your ID card in hand, to read the bar code number. You do NOT need your ID card to use the virtual resources of Rooney Library. To use the virtual resources, login to the proxy with your SMWC email username and SMWC email password.
