Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is located in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, which allows you to stay in a quiet, peaceful, and secluded environment. Our wooded and spacious campus is perfect for calm walks through the rich oak trees, study sessions in the fresh air, a game of volleyball or a bike ride after class. At the same time, living at SMWC means that you will be close to several metropolitan areas that are only a short car ride away.
Community Information
Terre Haute, Indiana, is a mere five miles southeast of our campus. The city gives you access to an endless variety of places to shop, eat, and hang out. You can choose from your favorite chain restaurant, or try one of the local eateries. Honey Creek Mall and the unique shops along Wabash Avenue make great places to spend a day shopping. Keep entertained with the numerous cinemas or museums in town.
SMWC is just outside Terre Haute, Ind. and is located with in few hours
of several major metropolitan areas.
Indianapolis is only an hour and a half east of SMWC on Interstate 70. St. Louis is three hours west, and Chicago and Louisville are four hours away. SMWC rests in the center of these large cities, so you will have access to virtually every creature comfort -- while still relishing the quiet solitude of campus.

- Take Terre Haute exit (# 7).
- Turn north onto U.S. Highway 41 North.
- Then follow the directions below.

- After about 4 miles past the junction with I-70, get on State Highway 63 North.
- After about 2 miles, turn left on Bolton Road (look for the SMWC sign).
- Follow the two-lane road through a residential area until you reach U.S. Highway 150.
- Turn left onto U.S. Highway 150.
- Drive past the Mari Hulman George School of Equine Studies.
- Turn right at the SMWC College sign.
- The College will be located on your right (a short distance from the top of the hill).
- The "Main" gate will be the second road to the right..

- Approximately 9 miles past the intersection of State Highway 63 and State Highway 163, turn right onto Bolton Road (look for the SMWC sign).
- Follow the two-lane road through a residential area until you reach U.S. Highway 150.
- Turn left onto U.S. Highway 150.
- Drive past the Mari Hulman George School of Equine Studies.
- Turn right at the SMWC sign.
- The college will be located on your right (a short distance from the top of the hill).
