Campus Program Scholarships

The criteria listed determine eligibility only and do not guarantee receipt of the scholarship.

All Scholarships: Unless otherwise noted, the following scholarships are for qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree-seeking program. Students must maintain the specified cumulative GPA and show academic progress towards their degree to renew each scholarship for a total of eight semesters unless otherwise noted.

 

Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Scholarship

• Amount: A total of ten awards, two for $20,000 and eight for $13,000, towards the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must submit a SMTG application and a written essay by February 1, 2013. Replaces the Merit Scholarship.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

SMWC Freshmen Merit Scholarships

• Amount: Unlimited number of awards: Trustee Scholarship: $44,000; President's Scholarship: $36,000;  Dean's Scholarship: $28,000 towards the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in degree seeking program.

• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Pomeroy STEM Scholarship

• Amount: Awarded to Indiana students who pursue a STEM major; scholarship will be awarded for a total of eight semesters towards the cost of tuition. Students are awarded up to $10,000.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking STEM program.  Can be combined up to the total cost of tuition (will not exceed the total cost of tuition). 
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.0 minimum academic cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their STEM degree to renew the scholarship for an additional three years (total of 8 semesters).

 

Honors Program Scholarship

• Amount: Unlimited number of up to $2,500 toward the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program and admitted into the SMWC Honors Program. Applicants must submit an Honors Program application and a written essay. Can be combined with other awards.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must remain in honors program and maintain a 3.2 minimum academic cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Leadership Technology Scholarship

• Amount: Up to a total of 24 $1,000 awards to campus students.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must submit an Honors Program application and a written essay. Can be combined with other awards.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.2 minimum academic cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Visual and Performing Arts Scholarships

• Amount: Depending upon applicant pool talent, total award from $500 to $1,000 towards the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must contact the Department of Music and Theatre or  Department of Text and Image and submit work attend an on-campus audition.  
• The awards are based on talent. No separate applications required. Can be combined with merit scholarships.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 minimum academic cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters  in Music or Art majors.

 

Indiana Catholic Student Scholarship

• Amount: Unlimited for total of $44,000 for a total of 4 years.  $11,000/year for a total of 4 years  
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must demonstrate that they are a Catholic student by having a form signed by a local Catholic Priest or Parish Life Coordinator stating that they are Catholic.  Replaces the Merit Scholarship.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for an additional three years.

 

Cristo Rey Network Scholarship

• Amount: Unlimited for a total of $44,000 for a total of four years, $11,000 per year.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must have attended and graduated from a Cristo Rey Network High School.   No separate applications required.   Replaces the Merit Scholarship.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Guerin College Preparatory HS Scholarship (River Grove, IL)

• Amount: Unlimited for total of $44,000 for a total of 4 years.  $11,000/year for a total of 4 years.  
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must have attended and graduated from Guerin College Preparatory High School (River Grove).  No separate applications required.   Replaces the Merit Scholarship. 

• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Guerin Catholic HS Scholarship  (Noblesville, IN)

• Amount: Unlimited for total of $44,000 for a total of 4 years.  $11,000/year for a total of 4 years.  

• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must have attended and graduated from Guerin Catholic High School (Noblesville).  No separate applications required.  Replaces the Merit Scholarship.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Pomeroy Athletic Scholarships

• Amount: Depending upon the applicant pool talent for each sport, towards the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications:  Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program are considered for Pomaroy Athletic Scholarships by the Coaches based and athletic talent and team needs.  Students must be a campus degree seeking student and the award is renewable yearly based upon Athletic Director recommendations.  No separate applications required. Can be combined with merit scholarships. will not exceed the total cost of tuition.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters and remain and active member of the team.

 

21st Century Scholars Scholarship

• Amount: All students receive free room and board scholarship (double room occupancy).
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must be a state verified 21st Century Scholar.  No separate applications required.   Can be combined with Merit Scholarships
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

SMWC Alumnae Tuition Grants

• Amount: Unlimited number of $1,500 grants toward tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must be a descendant of a SMWC graduate or direct relative of a current SMWC student in a degree-seeking program.  The award is renewed annually.  No separate applications required.  Can be combined with Merit Scholarships.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

September 11th Scholarship

• Amount: Unlimited number of $15,000 towards the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must be immediate family members of those killed or seriously and permanently disabled in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or United Airlines Flight 93.   No separate applications required.    Replaces the Merit Scholarship.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

SMWC Grants

• Amount: Depending upon demonstrated need, $0 up to $10,000 towards the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program must have submitted their FAFSA.  No separate applications required.   Can be combined with Merit Scholarships.
• Renewable Requirements:Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Post-9/11 GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program

• Amount: The Indiana highest cost of tuition as determined by Veterans Administration. SMWC and VA will award funds to cover the total cost of tution and fees. 
• Qualifications: Qualifications determined by the Department of Veteran Affairs as determined by the Post 911 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program requirements. Cannot be combined.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.

 

Military Grant

• Amount: Unlimited number of $3,000 awards towards the cost of tuition.
• Qualifications: Qualifying admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program can receive the award for the duration of their enrollment if the student maintains full-time status.   Grant is awarded to the military service members who have served on active duty or are currently serving in the reserves spouse and/or dependent.  No separate applications required.  Can be  combined with any other awards (documentation required in the form of DD-214 or NOBE.)
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree. The $3,000 grant is applied yearly towards the cost of tuition for all qualifying students based on full-time enrollment. The grant is renewable for 6 years for part-time students and 3 years for full-time students while the student maintains satisfactory academic progress and enrolls in at least 2 semesters each academic year.

 

Targeted Geographic Areas Scholarship
(Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, Lexington, Knoxville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton and Cleveland)

• Amount: Unlimited number of $5,000 awards towards the cost of tuition only.
• Qualifications: Qualifying female admitted students attending SMWC full-time in a degree seeking program who live in the targeted geographic areas.  No separate applications required.    Can be combined with any other awards.
• Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of 8 semesters.
