The MAAT program is approved by The Higher Learning Commission of North
Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the American Art Therapy
Association. All education and credential guidelines for the MAAT program come
from the American Art Therapy Association and the Art Therapy Credentials
Upon successful completion of the MAAT program, graduates that wish to apply
for registration as an art therapist (ATR) through the Art Therapy Credentials
Board (ATCB) must accumulate 1,000 paid hours of supervised, direct client
contact in art therapy.
