Distance graduate overcomes obstacles to earn her master's degree
Rea always wanted to earn her four-year degree but, like many students who choose a distance education program, life had to come first. Her priorities had faces, like her husband, Charles, faced with a back injury and a learning disability, and her three children, Lora, Jessica and Charlie, who needed her more than she needed a degree. Eventually, though, she knew she would accomplish her goals. She just had to be patient.

Haunting good time at The Woods

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College’s R.S.V.P. Luncheon at The Woods Series engages audiences in weighty debates ranging from the struggles of equity in the workforce to creating a competitive edge in education. This fall, Good Morning America producer Mellen O’Keefe will discuss modern media’s effects on and use in education during the first speaker series of the 2011-2012 academic year.

SMWC Pomeroys take on Hanover Panthers
The Pomeroys started their season on the road against a Hanover team that has already knocked off two perennial DIII national powers, DePauw and Ohio Wesleyan. While they showed great skill and huge heart, taking it to the Panthers early, they could not hold off the onslaught of excellent play and deep bench that Hanover was able to bring to the match. The final was 5-1 in favor of the Panthers.
