Sue Loughlin, Terre Haute Tribune Star reporter, weaves a captivating tale about lives directly and indirectly impacted by Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College’s participation in the National Roll Call and Remembrance Day activities.

Faculty, staff and students at the College read aloud the names of fallen soldiers under the flagpole from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during National Roll Call. Across campus, students gathered in Le Fer Hall to make camouflage rosaries and show their support to military members past and present.

Nearly 30 veterans are currently enrolled at SMWC. The College offers flexible formats, support services and special scholarships for not only military members, but their families as well. The Student Veterans Organization, in its inaugural year at The Woods, helps military students adjust to college life. With Woods Online, service members living on base or stationed anywhere in the world can get their degree at a distance from SMWC. Recently, SMWC was named a “Military Friendly School” by Victory Media.
