Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College offers the only Bachelor of Science degree in equine studies in Indiana. One-third of campus students are involved in equine interests. Three majors and three minors are offered in the Department of Equine Studies. SMWC also has both Western and Hunt Seat Teams.
The Indiana Horse Council is dedicated to the well-being of the horse industry. It protects, promotes and preserves the interests and activities within the Indiana equine industry in areas of education, legislation, promotion and philanthropy.
