The criteria listed determines eligibility only and does not guarantee receipt of the scholarship.

All Graduate scholarships

Unless otherwise noted, the following scholarships are for qualifying graduate students attending SMWC in a degree-seeking program. Students must maintain scholarship requirements to renew the award. SMWC awards are applied to tuition only and will be reduced or replaced by outside award offers (if applicable). Awards cannot be combined for students in dual enrollment programs.

All awards are subject to reduction or replacement by other offers or awards.

MLD Scholarships

Master of Leadership Development (MLD)

Amount: determined by most recent undergraduate degree

  • 3.76 cumulative GPA or higher
    • One year track: up to $2,500 /yr. = ($1,250 per semester)
    • Two year track: up to $1,250/yr. = ($625 per semester)
  • 3.25-3.75 cumulative GPA
    • One year track: up to $1,500 yr. = ($750 per semester)
    • Two year track: up to $750/yr. = ($375 per semester)

Qualifications: In addition to being a degree-seeking graduate student, students must also be enrolled at least half-time status to receive the award. Amount based on enrollment status.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain the minimum cumulative GPA required for the program and make satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

MLD Alum Scholarship

Amount: One year track: $500/yr. – Two year track: $250/yr.

Qualifications: Students enrolled as half-time status in the MLD program who graduated from SMWC with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher. Amount based on enrollment status.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain the minimum cumulative GPA required for the program and make satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

MLD/MHA Dual Degree

Amount: $500 for the 2nd degree, to be evenly divided by number of enrollment terms.

Qualifications: students enrolled to complete a 2nd leadership degree at SMWC with a minimum graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain the minimum cumulative GPA required for the program and make satisfactory academic progress towards degree completion.

MHA Scholarships

Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)

Amount: determined by most recent undergraduate degree

  • 3.76 cumulative GPA or higher
    • One year track: up to $2,500 /yr. = ($1,250 per semester for a total of two semesters)
    • Two year track: up to $1,250/yr. = ($625 per semester)
  • 3.25-3.75 cumulative GPA
    • One year track: up to $1,500 yr. = ($750 per semester for a total of two semesters)
    • Two year track: up to $750/yr. = ($375 per semester)

MHA Alum Scholarship

Amount: $500 for the program

Qualifications: Students enrolled as half-time status in the MHA program who graduated from SMWC with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher. Amount based on enrollment status.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain the minimum cumulative GPA required for the program and make satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

Master of Art Therapy (MAAT)

Amount: Up to $1,000/yr. (fall & spring semester only)

Qualifications: Students enrolled as half-time status in the MAAT program with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.75 or higher and completed all the Admission requirements. Amount based on enrollment status.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain the minimum cumulative GPA required for the program and make satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

MAMT Scholarships

Master of Music Therapy (MAMT)

Amount:

  • 3.76 cumulative GPA or higher = $1,000/yr. (fall & spring only)
  • 3.2-3.75 cumulative GPA = $500/yr. (fall & spring only)

Qualifications: Students enrolled as half-time status in the MAMT program with a minimum undergraduate GPA noted above and completed all the Admission requirements. Amount based on enrollment status.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain the minimum cumulative GPA required for the program and make satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.

MAMT Graduate Assistantship: Graduate/Teaching Assistant

Qualifications: Board Certification in Music Therapy; admission into MA in Music Therapy program.

Requirements: Must live within 60 minutes of campus.

Qualifications: Board Certification in Music Therapy; admission into MA in Music Therapy program.

Requirements: Must have prior experience as a Clinical Supervisor and be willing to commit to at least 2 consecutive semesters to this position.

Military Scholarships

Post-9/11 GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program:

Amount: The Indiana State highest cost of tuition as determined by Veterans Administration. SMWC and VA will award funds to cover the total cost of tuition and fees.

Qualifications: Qualifications determined by the Department of Veteran Affairs as determined by the Post 911 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program requirements. Cannot be combined.

Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for a total of eight semesters.

Graduate Scholarship Policy

  • Scholarships are awarded at the time of admission to SMWC.  SMWC reserves the right to adjust scholarship amounts & criteria from year to year; however, the student will maintain the award offered at the time of admission.
  • Students must be degree-seeking and at least half-time enrollment status.  Amounts are determined by enrollment status.
  • Students must adhere to scholarship guidelines to renew the award. 
  • SMWC awards will only pay for course required for degree completion.
  • If a student withdraws from SMWC, their awards are not guaranteed if they choose to return.
  • SMWC scholarships cannot be used for study abroad courses. 
  • Graduate scholarships cannot be used for undergraduate campus or Woods Online courses.
  • SMWC reserves the right to reduce/replace SMWC awards with other scholarship offers or awards.
