1. Why did you choose SMWC?
A part of me always knew I would end up at SMWC. I’ve always felt comfortable here and appreciated the close-knit, welcoming atmosphere of the small campus. Coming from a small school, the student-to-teacher ratio was especially important to me. When I visited other campuses, none of them gave me the same feeling that SMWC did.

2. Why did you choose your major?
I enjoyed my cadet teaching experience in high school, and from that point on, I never seriously considered another career. Becoming a teacher has always felt right to me. I knew I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and teaching provides that opportunity. After much prayer, doors opened that confirmed this path for me—doors that wouldn’t have opened if Elementary Education weren’t meant for me. All the signs pointed to SMWC and Elementary Education.

3. What is your favorite place on campus?
I adore the beauty of the campus. I especially enjoy driving down The Avenue.

4. What is a favorite memory you have from your Woods experience?
I’ve made so many great memories here, especially within the Education Department. Some of my favorites include creating TikToks for the SMWC Education page, which made my time here even more fun and meaningful.

5. How do you plan to stay connected to SMWC after graduating?
I will always feel connected to SMWC because of my ring. I love when people notice it and start a conversation—it serves as a reminder of the strong community I’m a part of.
